1. Trim the Wick – The Most Important Step

Before each burn, always trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This crucial step reduces smoke and ensures a cleaner, more even burn. Consider using a wick trimmer for best results.

2. The First Burn

Ensure an optimal burn experience by allowing the wax pool to extend to the container’s edge during the initial use. This typically takes 2-4 hours and helps prevent tunneling, ensuring your candle burns evenly and lasts longer.

3. Burn Time

Each time you light your candle, let it burn for 1 to 2 hours, until the wax has melted across the entire surface. Avoid burning for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent overheating and preserve the quality of your candle.

4. Extinguish Properly

To safely extinguish your candle, use a snuffer or carefully replace the lid. This avoids splattering wax and minimizes smoke.

5. Safety First

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets, and ensure there are no flammable materials nearby.

6. Stability and Drafts

Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, which can cause uneven burning and increased smoke production.

7. Repurpose with Purpose

Once your candle has fully burned, repurpose the jar for storing trinkets, pens, or even planting small succulents. Upcycling is both stylish and eco-friendly.

8. Storage Solutions

Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources when not in use. This helps maintain the fragrance and consistency of the wax, readying it for the next use.
